Chandi Devi Forehead, Haridwar (Hindi: चण्डी देवी मंदिर, हरिद्वार) is a Hindu temple devoted to Goddess Chandi Devi in the sacred town of Haridwar in theUttarakhand condition of Indian. The temple is located on top of the Neel Parvat on the Southern peak of the Sivalik Mountains, the most southern hill string of the Himalayas. Chandi Devi Forehead was designed in 1929 by Suchat Singh in his rule as the Master of Kashmir. However, the primary murti of Chandi Devi at the temple is said to have been set up in the 8th 100 years by Adi Shankaracharya, one of the biggest monks of Hindu belief. The temple also known as Neel Parvat Teerth is one of the Panch Tirth (Five Pilgrimages) located within Haridwar.
Chandi Devi Forehead is recognized by lovers as a Siddh Peetha which is a position of praise where wishes get satisfied. It is one of three such Peethas located in Haridwar, the other two being Mansa Devi Forehead and She Devi Forehead.

Chandi Devi

Goddess Chandi also known as Chandika is the presiding deity of the temple. The story of the origin of Chandika is as follows: Long time ago, the demon kings Shumbha and Nishumbha had captured the kingdom of the god-king of heaven - Indra and thrown the gods from Swarga (heaven). After intense prayers by the gods, Parvati assumed the form of Chandi, an exceptionally beautiful woman and amazed by her beauty, Shumbha desired to marry her. On being refused, Shumbha sent his demon chiefsChanda and Munda to kill her. They were killed by goddesss Chamunda who originated out of Chandika's anger. Shumbha and Nishumbha then collectively tried to kill Chandika but were instead slain by the goddess. Thereafter, Chandika is said to have rested for a short while at the top of Neel Parvat and later a temple was built here to testify the legend. Also, the two peaks located in the mountain range are called Shumbha and Nishumbha.

The Temple
The forehead is run by the Mahant who is the presiding clergyman of the forehead. On a regular day, the forehead is start between 6.00 am. to 8.00 pm. and the day aarti at the forehead starts at 5.30 am. Set components, non veggie meals and alcohol addiction liquids are stringently disallowed in the forehead building.The Temple is situated at a range of 4 kilometer (2.5 mi) from Har ki Pauri. To arrive at the forehead one has to either adhere to the three km going path from Chandighat and arrive at the shrine by ascending a variety of actions or go up the lately presented rope-way (cable car) assistance. The rope-way assistance known as Chandi Devi Udankhatola was presented for the advantage of the pilgrims and it provides the pilgrims also to the encompassing situated Mansa Devi shrine. The rope-way provides the pilgrims from the reduced place situated near Gauri Shankar Temple on the Nazibabad Highway immediately to the Chandi Devi Temple situated at an elevation of 2,900 meters (9,500 ft). Significance
The forehead is one of the most historical wats of Indian. A large number of lovers head to the forehead, especially during the gatherings of Chandi Chaudas and Navratra and the Kumbha Mela in Haridwar, to search for the delights of the actresses who is considered to satisfy their desires. The forehead is a must check out for the pilgrims going to Haridwar.[4]
